BMW Launches G 310 R and G 310 GS Today in India
The much-awaited BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS has been launched in India today after making motorcycle enthusiasts wait for a long time. The German automaker began the pre-bookings of the two newly launched motorcycles in the country a month earlier for a token of Rs 50,000.
While the price of G 310 R is Rs 2.99 lakh, the G 310 GS is priced at Rs 3.49 lakh. Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018 in India, the G 310 R naked bike and G 310 GS adventure tourer are expected to capture the attention of the Indian market with good sales. In terms of the bikes positioning and performance, KTM 390 Duke will be the only real competitor of BMW G 310 R in India.
The bikes will be manufactured at the TVS plant at Hosur, Tamil Nadu as BMW is set to launch the vehicles in collaboration with TVS. Similar to the TVS Apache RR 310, the two new BMW vehicles will be powered by 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit with four valves. The bike engine comes with a six-speed gearbox, producing 34hp of power and 28 Nm of peak torque.
Moreover, both BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS will have a DOHC cylinder head and will get tubular steel frames, five-spoke alloy wheels, and ABS. The three-year unlimited warranty standard of BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS can be extended to another two years if needed.
The BMW G 310 R has a 17-inch front wheel and 17-inch back wheel. However, the GS has a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel.
The design of BMW G310R has taken inspiration from larger roadsters like the BMW S 1000 R in the BMW Motorrad range. The roadster comes with a small headlight fairing, and extended fuel tank cowls with body graphics. At the rear tail end, the BMW G 310 R has a stubby exhaust muffler.
