YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy had concluded his 14-month padayatra on Wednesday covering 134 constituencies in the state.

While YSRCP supporters are hailing the mammoth feat of the 14-month padayatra covering 3,648 km by their party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, ruling party President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu dismissed the yatra as a 'pleasure trip'.

Speaking on the sidelines of an event to reporters, according to New Indian Express, Naidu said, "How can he call his fancy walk a padayatra? When I had done it, I used to walk 10.5 km on an average per day that too till wee hours. But, he did not walk past 7 pm and took off to Hyderabad every Thursday and Friday."

He further added, "I still have the pain. I was told to take a month's break and return to padayatra. But since it was a holy yatra, I refused, and used ice pack during breaks and continued. Yet I enjoyed it."

Naidu was referring to his 2013 padayatra ahead of the 2014 elections. He had covered 2,817 kms in 208 days.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP president and leader of opposition Jaganmohan Reddy has hit out at the chief minister and ridiculed his national political ambitions.

Addressing the gathering at Ichchapuram, according to TOI, Jagan said, "Naidu lived happily with the BJP for four years and suppressed those who raised their voice for Special Category Status to AP, even threatening to send activists to jail. Now, just months ahead of the elections, Naidu has appointed himself as the champion of SCS, but people have realised that he is fooling them."

He further alleged, "Naidu has realised that he will lose the assembly elections, and is therefore trying to find a place for him in national politics."

The YSRCP chief is hopeful of coming to power after the 429-day-long padayatra. YSRCP leaders claim that Jagan had reached out to two crore people during the padayatra, covering 134 out of 175 Assembly constituencies in the state.

Jagan had set out on the padayatra on November 6, 2017, from his hometown Idupulapaya in Kadapa district. His party had boycotted the Assembly sessions, despite being the principal Opposition party, and instead focussed on the padayatra.
