Farmer's death sparks protests in Andhra Pradesh
A farmer in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his own farm. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu came under attack by all the major opposition parties on charge that Koteswara Rao alias Kotaiah was tortured to death by Guntur police for refusing to give his land at Kondaveedu in Guntur district to make temporary helipad for the CM. YSR Congress party instituted a three-member fact finding committee. YSR Congress alleged Kotaiah was badly beaten up by police for objecting to felling of papaya crop in his two-acre land for the helipad.
