Ind vs Eng 2018 2nd Test Live: India Recall Pujara, Kuldeep As England Elect To Bowl

India vs England, 2nd Test Lord’s, Day 2 Live: With the first day being completely washed off because of incessant rains, both England and India will be hoping for the rain gods to stay away and give way to a clear sky when the two teams step on the field on the second day of the Lord’s Test in London on Friday.

The umpires have decided that there will be no early start to the game on the remaining four days to compensate the loss of first day’s play. However, play can carry on for 30 minutes longer provided suitable weather conditions.

However, Friday’s weather may actually turn out to be just like Thursday with plenty of rain expected in the afternoon but there are signs that rain will subside from 3 pm onwards abut it will remain cloudy with chances of drizzle.

The toss will now become very crucial as both skippers Virat Kohli and Joe Root will be in a dilemma whether to bat or bowl on a surface that is known to be dry and with overcast conditions and wet outfield.

England are already leading the five-match series 1-0 having won a thrilling contest at Edgbaston by 31 runs.

Squads:

England: Alastair Cook, Keaton Jennings, Joe Root (C), Ollie Pope, Jonny Bairstow(w), Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Moeen Ali

India: Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Virat Kohli (C), Ajinkya Rahane, Dinesh Karthik (w), Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Karun Nair, Shardul Thakur
